Accessibility and Usability

April 30, 2021,

There is a difference between Accessibility and Usability, and sometimes something accessible is not usable, the same way that something can be usable but not accessible.

Accessibility is the ease that a person has to access something, while Usability is the degree to which something can be used, the ideal developed product would be a union of both these concepts.

Taking both into consideration is an important step that should not be skipped, user testing is the way to guaranty if something is usable but at the same time, you can test if something is accessible by including disabled users in the QA group, consulting with accessibility experts at the start of the developing process will safe both time and resources.
